Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE... South Central Cabarrus County in the piedmont of North Carolina... East Central Mecklenburg County in the piedmont of North Carolina... North Central Union NC County in the piedmont of North Carolina... * WHEN... Until 815 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may be impassible. A small culvert washout or two may have occurred. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 735 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicates earlier torrential rainfall has ended. No additional heavy rainfall is expected this evening. However, storm-total rainfall of 1.5-2 inches occurred in less than 60 minutes over extreme SE Cabarrus County and extreme NW Union County, resulting in excessive runoff that overwhelmed drainage ditches and likely caused nuisance flooding of low-lying, poorly draining areas including along roadways and intersections. However, this flooding has likely receded and conditions are likely returning to normal, therefore, this Flood Advisory will be allowed to expire on time at 815pm. - Some locations that may have experienced nuisance floodinginclude...
