Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...
Portions of north central North Carolina and Virginia, including the following counties, in north central North Carolina, Rockingham and Stokes. In Virginia, Carroll, Floyd, Franklin, Henry, Montgomery, Patrick and Pulaski.

* WHEN...
Until 745 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 350 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Beaver Creek, Anglin Branch, Big Beaver Island Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Ararat River, Belews Creek, Benaja Creek, Bassett Branch, Baker Branch and Archies Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
