* Until 330 AM EDT.

* At 108 AM EDT, Local law enforcement reported ongoing flash flooding from thunderstorms that produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen, primarily in a swath from Gastonia to Mount Holly where numerous roads have been flooded. Additional showers continue to move across the area with rainfall rates of 0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Catawba Creek at East Hudson Boulevard is cresting just above 12 feet while the South Fork Catawba River at Lowell continues to rise. Roads will remain flooded across the warned area for the next several hours before flood waters gradually recede.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
