At 1032 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles southwest of Uptown Charlotte, or near Southwest Charlotte, moving east at 60 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Uptown Charlotte, Central Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Mint Hill, Freedom Park, The Plaza, Charlotte Douglas Airport, Steele Creek, and Carowinds.
