At 410 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms extending from 6 miles southeast of Prospect Hill to 7 miles northeast of Kernersville. Movement was east at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Greensboro, Durham, High Point, Chapel Hill, Burlington, Graham, Oxford, Hillsborough, Creedmoor, and Kernersville.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 85 between Mile Markers 33 and 35, and between Mile Markers 117 and 206.
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 132 and 162, and between Mile Markers 204 and 273.
the Durham Freeway between Mile Markers 11 and 17.
Interstate 73 between Mile Markers 89 and 103.
