At 237 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with intense lightning and torrential rainfall 6 miles southwest of Uptown Charlotte, or over Southwest Charlotte, moving east at 15 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Uptown Charlotte, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill, Indian Trail, Stallings, and Pineville.
Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
