Total snow accumulations up to three inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE... In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany County. In Virginia, Western Highland County. In West Virginia, Western Pendleton County. * WHEN... From 7 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS... Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions on I-68 and US-40 west of La Vale, US-50 west of New Creek, US-33 west of Franklin, WV, and US-250 west of Hightown, VA. The hazardous conditions could impact travel especially during the early morning and overnight hours. Strong winds could cause damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Snowfall rates around 0.5 to 1 inch per hour are possible at times through Thursday morning especially in embedded snow squalls. Freezing fog is possible between steadier snows. Wind chills of 15 to -5 are possible through Thursday morning. |
