At 132 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles northwest of Marshall to 15 miles north of Waynesville to 16 miles south of Newport. Movement was south at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Waynesville, Marshall, Woodfin, Canton, Lake Junaluska, Clyde, Maggie Valley, Hot Springs, Smoky Mountains-Balsam Mountain, and Smoky Mountains-Big Creek.
