Portions of south central, southwest, and west central Virginia, including the following counties, in south central Virginia, Henry. In southwest Virginia, Carroll, Floyd and Patrick. In west central Virginia, Franklin. * WHEN... Until midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 849 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Chestnut Creek, Birds Branch, Anglin Branch, Archies Creek, Blackwater River, Blackberry Creek, Ararat River and Big Reed Island Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
