Flood threat as the result of heavy rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
Eastern Bedford County, Western Campbell County, and the City of Lynchburg.

* WHEN...
Until 400 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some roadways may become flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 143 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of persistent heavy rain showers stretching from Madison Heights to Forest to Evington to Lynchburg. A very slow southeastward drift of the activity was indicated, otherwise very little movement was noted. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen in parts of the advisory area, such as near Forest and Evington. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is likely during the next couple of hours.
- Local law enforcement reports that Forest Road in the Forest area was flooded in a couple of spots. Additional minor, poor drainage flooding is likely as the rainfall persists across this area.
This advisory encompasses the following streams and drainage basins...
Big Otter River, Buck Branch and Buffalo Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will increase the threat for flooding.
