At 1052 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles southwest of Newton, or 5 miles southeast of Mountain View, moving south at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Newton, Lincolnton, Hickory, Mountain View, Maiden, Startown, Propst, Vale, and Crouse.
