Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of southwest Virginia, including the following county and independent city, Carroll and City of Galax.

* WHEN...
Until 715 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 411 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Hanks Branch, Johnson Creek, East Fork Little Reed Island Creek, Lovills Creek, Big Reed Island Creek, Little Fisher River, Little Pauls Creek, Crooked Creek, Chestnut Creek, Garners Creek, Grassy Creek, Elk Spur Branch, Brushy Fork and East Fork Crooked Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
