Flood Advisory issued June 13 at 6:16PM EDT until June 13 at 8:30PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA
At 616 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lexington, Buena Vista, Goshen, Millboro, Rockbridge Baths, Warm Springs and Hot Springs.
Additional rainfall of 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
The headwaters of the Calfpasture River, Back Creek, Gilmer Creek and smaller streams feeding into the Maury River.
Excessive rain has also fallen in parts of Highland County. This rain will likely impact Back Creek near Sunrise.
