Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent cities, Botetourt, City of Roanoke, City of Salem and Roanoke.

* WHEN...
Until 1145 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 841 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Horners Branch, Craig Creek, Carvin Creek, Jumping Run Creek, Broad Run, Haymaker Branch, Catawba Creek and Gish Branch.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
