Heavy mixed wintry precipitation expected. Snow will overspread the forecast area through the evening, then transition to a mix of sleet and freezing rain tonight. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations up to one-quarter of an inch.

A portion of central North Carolina.

* WHEN...
Until 10 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. Travel could be nearly impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
