Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

A portion of north central North Carolina, including the following counties, Stokes and Surry.

* WHEN...
Until 1115 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 812 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen this morning.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Cascade Creek, Big Creek, Brushy Fork Creek, Ararat River, Chinquapin Creek, Archies Creek and Dan River.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
