The Flash Flood Watch continues for * A portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Nash, Person, Vance, Warren and Wilson.

* Until Midnight EDT tonight.

* Showers and thunderstorms will develop this afternoon and become numerous to widespread through early tonight, as an area of low pressure and cold front cross the region. Some showers and storms will become slow-moving and redevelop over the same areas late this afternoon and evening. The slow movement, coupled with a tropical air mass in place, will result in torrential downpours and a risk of flash flooding.

* Areas which receive excessive rainfall will be susceptible to flash flooding. Low-lying, poor drainage, and normally flood prone areas could become flooded. Roads in these areas could become flooded and impassable.
