A cold northwest flow of moisture will help to develop snow showers across the higher elevations along and near the Tennessee border through late tonight. Snowfall accumulations of 1-2 inches are likely with locally higher amounts up to 4 inches possible at elevations above 3500 ft. A dusting of snow is possible in the valleys near the Tennessee border. Some light snow or flurries may spill into northern Jackson County, southern Haywood County, and northern Buncombe County. However, no accumulations are expected in those locations. Snow should taper off prior to daybreak Friday.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Slow down and use caution while driving.
