Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following county, Watauga.

* WHEN...
Until 630 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable. The Watauga River is rising and may rise into minor flood at Foscoe impacting Shulls Mill Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 214 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Laurel Fork, Hoskin Fork, Norris Fork, Grassy Creek, Laurel Branch, Meat Camp Creek, Left Prong Stony Fork, George Gap Branch, Brushy Fork, Beaverdam Creek, Little Beaverdam Creek, Elk Creek, Kirby Branch and Cove Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
