At 915 PM EDT, radar indicated thunderstorms were moving through parts of the New River Valley...generally east of Wytheville. An outflow gust front, or the wind outflow from these thunderstorms will move southwestward through the western part of the New River Valley, producing a wind gust of 25 to 40 mph.
Winds of this magnitude may down tree limbs and upset patio furniture and tents that are not secured to the ground.

and Tazewell.
