Canceled 7/9/25 9:28 PM Flash Flood Warning issued July 9 at 5:00PM EDT until July 9 at 10:15PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA At 500 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that heavy rain has exited the warned area, leaving only light to occasionally moderate showers. However, between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen since 3 pm. Runoff from this rainfall continues to collect in area creeks and stream, and may push some of them out of their banks. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Covington... Clifton Forge... Jordan Mines... Callaghan... Natural Well... Low Moor... Selma... This includes the following streams and drainages...
