At 1 PM, a cold front and showers extended across central West Virgina and southwest Virginia. These features will race eastward, reaching a line from near Hagerstown to near Charlottesville by 3 PM. Wind gusts of 45 to as high as 74 mph have been observed as this activity passes.
Residents should prepare for the onset of these strong to damaging winds. Remain in the lower levels of your home and avoid windows.
Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
