Near-freezing temperatures and limited sun on Saturday helped promote some melting of the ice and snow. However, many secondary roads remain slushy or snow covered owing to the additional light snow that fell in the mountains this afternoon. Any moisture on the roads will quickly refreeze this evening as temperatures drop through the 20s and into the teens.
Motorists should drive with extra caution through the early morning on Sunday given the potential to encounter slick spots, especially on untreated bridges, overpasses, and sidewalks. Slow down and leave plenty of room in front of you.
