Stokes County in north central North Carolina... * Until 545 PM EDT. * At 252 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across western and southern Stokes county, especially between King, Pilot Mountain, and Vade Mecum. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in some of these areas. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Walnut Cove, Danbury, Sandy Ridge, Francisco, Hanging Rock State Park, Meadows and Capella. This includes the following streams and drainages...
