Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

Portions of central, southern, and western West Virginia, including the following counties, in central West Virginia, Jackson and Roane. In southern West Virginia, Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln and Putnam. In western West Virginia, Mason.

* WHEN...
Until 815 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...
Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1114 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are possible in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Charleston, Nitro, Winfield, Hamlin, Jefferson, South Charleston, St. Albans, Dunbar, Hurricane, Sissonville, Chesapeake, Eleanor, Marmet, Belle, Clendenin, Cedar Grove, Poca, East Bank, Glasgow and Institute.
