Lake Effect Snow Warning issued December 5 at 1:46PM EST until December 6 at 4:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH

* WHAT...
Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches with locally higher amounts where bands persist. The highest totals will occur in the higher terrain locations of the warning area. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...
A portion of northeast Ohio.

* WHEN...
Until 4 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
Lake effect snow bands will persist and be the main concern for the rest of the event through tonight. Strong wind gusts and density of the large snowpack across Northeast Ohio could result in damage to structures. Strong wind gusts as high as 40 mph may result in blowing snow and local reductions in visibility.
