Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...
Portions of North Carolina and southwest Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, in North Carolina, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin. In southwest Virginia, Carroll, City of Galax, Grayson, Patrick and Wythe.

* WHEN...
Until 830 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 527 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Ararat River, Beaver Creek and Archies Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
