Northwest winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected across the North Carolina mountains. Gusts up to 60 mph possible at the highest ridgetops.

A portion of western North Carolina.

Until 8 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
Snow showers will continue along the Tennessee border through the early morning hours Friday, with some accumulation possible. The strong winds could cause some blowing snow, which could reduce visibility.
