Areas of light snow will continue to pass across portions of western Virginia into the Highlands of North Carolina into mid morning, with snowfall then tapering off. Less than an inch of snow is expected for most locations, with the higher ridges receiving up to an inch.
The light snowfall will accumulate on some roadways, resulting is slick spots, especially on secondary roads, bridges and overpasses. Motorists are urged to drive at a reduced speed and exercise extreme caution.
