Canceled 7/18/25 11:30 PM Flood Advisory issued July 18 at 8:33PM EDT until July 18 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT... Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE... A portion of western North Carolina, including the following counties, Mitchell and Yancey. * WHEN... Until 1130 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Fast flows on portions of the South Toe River and some of its tributaries in the Celo community and vicinity. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 826 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen across portions of the Advisory area since 630 PM. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. The main impact of the heavy rainfall will be quick rises and fast flows on the South Toe River and some of its tributaries in Celo and vicinity, especially East Fork Big Crabtree Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
