At 1251 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Pittsboro, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Crosswinds Boating Center, Crosswinds Campground, and New Hill.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 271 and 274.
US 1 between Mile Markers 80 and 94.
