.Snow is expected to spread into the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachian region Friday morning. Snow will continue through the afternoon and evening, then taper off Friday night. Several inches of snow are expected, potentially causing significant travel impacts. The snow may mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain in some areas, with light ice accumulation possible.

Heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible. Widespread snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches with up to 6 inches possible. Mixture of sleet and freezing rain possible south of I-40 with light ice accumulation possible.

Portions of southwest North Carolina, East Tennessee, and southwest Virginia.

From Friday morning through Saturday morning.
