The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of central Virginia and south central Virginia, including the following areas, in central Virginia, Amelia, Cumberland, Powhatan and Prince Edward. In south central Virginia, Nottoway.

* Until Midnight EDT tonight.

* Showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall have developed this afternoon. With rainfall rates up to 2 to 3 inches per hour, flash flooding is possible.

* Low lying areas near creeks, streams, and rivers and locations with poor drainage could become inundated with floodwater and inaccessible. Flooding of roadways and road closures are also possible.
