At 1245 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles southeast of Newland, or 6 miles north of Table Rock, moving southwest at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lenoir, Morganton, Spruce Pine, Gamewell, Hudson, Cajah's Mountain, Drexel, Glen Alpine, Cedar Rock, and Linville Falls.
