At 129 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near RDU International and Morrisville, moving north- northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Rainfall rates in excess of 1.5 inches in 30 minutes may produce flash flooding. Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Wake Forest, Garner, Zebulon, RDU International, Apex, Holly Springs, and Morrisville.
