Snow will begin by mid to late morning, moderate to heavy at times this afternoon and evening. The snow may mix with sleet or possibly freezing rain for areas east of interstate 81 and 75 this afternoon. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches west of interstate 81 and 75, and 2 to 4 inches east. Ice accumulations around a light glaze.

Portions of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

* WHEN...
From 10 AM EST /9 AM CST/ this morning to 7 AM EST /6 AM CST/ Saturday.

* IMPACTS...
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
