Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the following county, Ashe and southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Grayson and Smyth. * WHEN... Until 1045 PM EDT. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 742 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Fox Creek, Grassy Creek, East Fork Hopkins Branch, Blue Spring Creek, Dry Creek, Comers Creek, Big Horse Creek, Big Laurel Creek, Bear Branch, Dickey Creek and Georges Branch. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sugar Grove...
