Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

Portions of piedmont North Carolina, including the following counties, Cabarrus, Gaston and Mecklenburg and upstate South Carolina, including the following county, York.

Until 730 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 536 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain is diminishing as thunderstorms move east of the area. Minor flooding is ongoing in the advisory area. Ponding of water on roads and in low lying areas will linger early this morning even as the heavy rain is ending.

Gastonia, Rock Hill, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Kannapolis, Downtown Concord, Central Charlotte, South Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte, West Concord, Matthews, Mint Hill, Mt Holly, Fort Mill, Belmont, Stallings and Pineville.
