Heavy mixed wintry precipitation expected. Snow will overspread the forecast area this afternoon and evening, then transition to a mix of sleet and freezing rain tonight. Total snow and sleet accumulations up to two inches and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.

* WHERE...
The southern and eastern Piedmont, western Sandhills, and northern Coastal Plain of central North Carolina.

* WHEN...
From 1 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...
Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Numerous power outages will also be possible.
