Snow, mixed with rain in the valleys, expected in the North Carolina mountains and far northeast Georgia. Total snow accumulations mainly under an inch most valleys and 1 to 3 inches on ridgetops, with locally higher amounts. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.

* WHERE...
The mountains of North Carolina and Rabun County Georgia.

* WHEN...
Until noon EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...
The snow will create snow covered roads and produce scattered power outages. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
