Snow showers will develop this evening across the higher elevations of the central and southern NC mtns, generally above 3500 feet. Snow accumulation will range from 1-2 inches with isolated areas possible receiving near 3 inches. This will create slick driving conditions through daybreak.
Additionally...isolated slick spots are possible across the NC valleys and foothills. Spotty black ice may form due to quickly dropping temperatures below freezing interacting with wet roads persisting through mid-morning.
Be prepared for snow covering roadways and pockets of hard to see ice.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution while driving.
