Low relative humidity values can be expected this afternoon, with values in the lower to mid 20s over most areas of southwest Virginia. West to southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph with some higher gusts are also occurring this afternoon. These conditions will lead to increased fire danger this afternoon into early evening.
Relative humidity values will drop into the 30 to 35 percent range over much of southwest Virginia Saturday afternoon. In addition, winds will become westerly around 10 to 20 mph in most locations with gusts of 20 to 30 mph common. These conditions will again lead to increased fire danger.
Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you may burn outdoors today and again Saturday.
