Portions of central and south central Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, in central Virginia, Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell and City of Lynchburg. In south central Virginia, Bedford. * WHEN... Until 715 AM EST Sunday. * IMPACTS... Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Local streams and rivers will still rise through the overnight hours leading to some river and stream flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1118 PM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Abbott Branch, Bear Branch, Bear Creek, Appomattox River, Back Creek, Beaverpond Branch, Bent Creek and Allens Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lynchburg... Bedford... Altavista... Amherst... Appomattox...
