Low relative humidity values, resulting from exceptionally dry weather, will impose an increased risk for fire danger this afternoon. Relative humidity values are expected to drop into the 20-30 percent range during peak heating hours across the lower elevations of West Virginia and 30 to 40 percent along the higher terrain. In addition, wind gusts out of the east-northeast up to 18 miles per hour will be possible, highest along the mountains.
Avoid activities that cause open flames or sparks as fires can spread within these weather conditions.
