At 647 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with torrential rainfall along a line extending from 12 miles southwest of Yadkinville to 4 miles southeast of Newton, and moving east at 15 mph.
Locations to be impacted include...
Statesville, Newton, Maiden, Westport, Troutman, Stony Point, Claremont, Catawba, Harmony and Lake Norman.
Wind gusts up to 40 mph and very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas.
