Canceled 6/12/21 4:15 PM Special Weather Statement issued June 12 at 3:39PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA At 338 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Baywood to Cumberland Knob. Movement was south at 15 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with these storms. Locations impacted include... Sparta... Independence... Ennice... Stratford... Twin Oaks... Low Gap... and Cumberland Knob. Locally heavy rain, with rates of two to four inches per hour, will quickly reduce visibility and result in ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid hydroplaning.  |
