Light snow has tapered off to flurries across the northern mountains of North Carolina. No additional snow accumulation is expected, so the Winter Weather Advisory was allowed to expire.
However, the frequent very strong wind gusts will continue into the afternoon, which will blow and drift the snow that fell overnight. The blowing snow will continue to lower the visibility in some locations and contribute to poor road conditions. Be careful if you have to travel across the region this morning.
