At 302 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered over Max Meadows, moving northeast at 5 mph. They will impact the Interstate-81 and Interstate-77 corridor overlap area where Interstate-77 head south towards Fancy Gap.
Locations impacted include...
Max Meadows...
Grahams Forge...
Fort Chiswell...
and Gunton Park.
Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of creeks, streams, and areas of poor drainage.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution to avoid hydroplaning.
