At 117 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles west of Beech Mountain, or 5 miles north of Elk Park, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Newland, Blowing Rock In Caldwell County, Banner Elk, Elk Park, Beech Mountain In Avery County, Crossnore, Sugar Mountain, Seven Devils, Grandfather Mountain State Park, and B.R. Parkway-Linville Falls To Grandfather.
