Canceled 7/21/24 10:30 PM Special Weather Statement issued July 21 at 9:27PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 924 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong, slow- moving thunderstorms producing heavy rain 10 miles south of Plyler, or 11 miles southwest of Albemarle, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, heavy rain, and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Heavy rain may produce localized flooding especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Locations impacted include... Albemarle, Troy, Badin Lake, Biscoe, Ansonville, Plyler, Locust, Norwood, Badin, and Oakboro. |
